This version features a new vector-based approach to raster reconstruction which improves reliability and performance. Because of your history providing valuable feedback on previous releases of PaleoGIS, we invite you to beta test. Feedback on this release should be submitted no later than October 31, 2013. Your effort to assist in the testing will improve quality and shorten the time to a production release.

To participate as a beta tester, please download the installation file here: http://www.paleogis.com/dotnetnuke/Downloads/tabid/58/Default.aspx

You will need to register if you don’t already have an account, and then you will be able to download the beta version from the right side of the page. You can begin the download by clicking on the link “BETA – PaleoGIS v4.2.0.0 for ArcGIS 10.1 Installation File” under the “Paleo Beta Installation Files” section. You must have ArcGIS 10.1 installed in order to use this release. This new version will run on Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 32- and 64-bit. Your existing PaleoGIS license can be used to run this beta software.

Please note: This version is not a final release intended for distribution within your company.

Mark your calendar now and make plans to be in Houston on Thursday, November 14, 2013 for the 3rd Annual Rothwell PaleoGIS User Conference and Plate Tectonic Reconstruction Workshop. The event will be held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.

Join your colleagues from the Oil and Gas and Mineral exploration industries and academic community for a highly informative day (9 am to 4 pm). The Rothwell team will be there to introduce new paleo climate and batch processing product capabilities as well as discuss future development plans. We will also be demonstrating the latest version of PaleoGIS – 4.2.

In addition, hear about the latest technological advancements from our plate model and research partners plus case studies from several of our customers in plate tectonic reconstruction.

A detailed agenda and formal invitations will be distributed in mid-October. We look forward to seeing you again or welcoming you for the first time!

Call for Presenters: 2013 PaleoGIS Users Conference

Email announcement from Michael Starble, Marketing and Sales:

I hope you have been enjoying the summer.

I recently sent you a “save the date” note concerning Rothwell’s 3rd Annual Users Conference and Plate Tectonic Reconstruction Workshop in Houston, on Thursday, November 14, 2013. As one of our existing customers, I am writing directly to invite you and your organization to participate in the event in a very specific way.

Present a “user experience” story: As in the past, existing PaleoGIS customers will have the opportunity to share ways in which plate tectonic reconstruction analysis has contributed to their exploration efforts. We have 30 minute (25 minutes of content and 5 minutes of Q&A) time slots currently available.

We greatly value your contribution. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you or one of your associates would like to be a part of our annual event as a presenter!

Cheers

Michael Starble and the PaleoGIS Team
